A Note From Our Firewood Production Office:
We recommend to our clients that they order their home heating firewood in late winter for an early spring delivery. This will ensure that your wood will sit out through all of the warm sunny days and have the time needed to dry out properly. The only way to know if your wood is truly seasoned - is to do the job yourself! Never pay sky-high winter prices!
Stacking the wood is part of having a wood fire heating system- so get ready for a little bit of hard work. they say that when you heat with wood it warms you twice - once when you stack it all up and once when you warm your home.
Order early and enjoy the peace of mind our clients have when it comes to starting their first winter fire with good dry wood. Another great idea our clients have is to order an extra cord for their campfires - you can use your own seasoned wood for your camp fires saving you those outrageous costs for 10 sticks or less in a bag.
Our wood is guaranteed hardwood so its safe to cook over and the BTU's of heat provided by dry hardwood is unmatched by oil - time and time again!
Must be able to accommodate the delivery vehicle. We do our best to deliver in dry weather.
We are not liable for any damage to grass or "soft land" from hardwood deliveries. Please check the area ahead of our arrival.

Common Firewood Questions, Answered.
What is green wood and how do I know my wood delivered is dry?
Green firewood is any wood that has a high moisture content and is not seasoned. The amount of moisture that remains in the wood after it has been cut down makes it hard to burn. Green wood will sizzle, pop, smolder and smoke producing little to no heat and often causing an increased build up of creosote on your chimney - which creates an increased risk of a chimney fire. To ensure your wood being delivered is at the appropriate moisture content - testing a few pieces with a moisture meter is your safest bet. We provide our clients with a moisture reading when we deliver. We can provide our clients with a moisture meter for their own piece of mind. True Seasoned wood is a greyish colour and has a hollow knocking sound when you hit two pieces together.
How long does it take for firewood to dry out before you can burn it?
It is a year round task as firewood requires anywhere from six months to two years to dry out especially in a humid environment. Late winter and early spring are ideal times to order and store wood for the following year. It allows wood to dry over the hot summer months seasoning in time for the colder weather in the winter.
Is it ok for my firewood to get rained on?
No! Rain will not help in any way to season your firewood. The seasoning process helps to reduce the moisture content of the wood so that it can burn effectively when used as firewood. If a stack of firewood is kept in constant contact with moisture then it will start to rot rather then dry out. Any amount of snow or water should be removed from tarps/covering your wood piles as these can lead to unseen leaks compromising your firewood later in the burning season.
