Maggie's Farm Photo Gallery
Here are some of our favourite pictures from around our farm. The home on the property is 117 years old and has a lot of older character that we love. The barn has original hand sawn logs and barn board from a history almost long forgotten. We will take you on a trip around our property, down the paths and through the trees and show some before and after shots of work that we have done to improve the farm, make space for more animals and a lot more.
Enjoy the trip.

Hamming it Up Again!
To our farm last year we added a Tamworth/Berkshire sow we lovingly named Hamgella Landsbury. She will be the big mama on this farm and will stick around for a with Boris our Pure Berkshire boar who are in the process of making piglets.
After a very chilly winter they are enjoying the warm spring days we are having and are looking forward to warm summer days. The very best Butcher in Colchester County will be processing our pork. Dexter's Butcher Block will meat these boys this summer and we will have bacon, ground and chops available - so stay tuned for those release details. We are very excited for that too! |
We have Ducks!
Expanding our Flock this year...
Broiler Chickens!
Ewe wouldn't believe the sass ..!
Welcoming our Dorset lambs in 2022 and this year in 2023 to the farm has been an interesting journey. They have a large grassy and forested area to frolic through and love their day to day tours of the maple grove that they are snipping down more and more every day... have even figured out how to topple thin maples saplings so they can get at the leaves on the spindly branches - such smart girls. They love their barley and timothy hay and will enjoy their pasture space as soon as our puppy is ready to keep them safe. Puppy photos to follow.
They are chatty and love to be social with anyone that they can set eyes on. We have a gorgeous Dorset ram who joined our flock this year (2023) There are fifteen ewes making it a rather interesting mix of sass and fuzziness. We will be keeping some for breeding and the rest will meat Dexter - if you are interested in whole or portioned lamb, or you would like to raise your own lamb - please contact our farm as the supply will be limited. |
A look back in time ....
This was Frodo. Our First Berkshire Piglet. Born in 2021 we added him to our farm. He was the last piglets to come out of Sullivans Family Farm in Nutby Nova Scotia. He was a spunky escape artist that found a way out twice but returned each time after meeting a few of our neighbors. What a friendly guy! He grew to be almost 250lbs!! He loved the big tractors and the rumble of the motors, he would run and bark and watch when they drive by. He was very friendly and let you rub his ears gently. We are looking to add a few more hobbits to this Shire this year ... stay tuned.
